I bought this item, 2 of them from another store and both arrived damaged even with the heavy packaging. The damage was done before they were packed as the box itself didn't show any dents corresponding to the damage inside the box to the item/s. I did contact the store I bought these items from but was given only a $40 refund in total. The doors to these units are not made to hold the entire DVD/CD amount you can place there as it will make it too heavy and then it scrapes the bottom of the unit when you open/close the door. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on something else. Certainly not worth the money I paid for them and not worth the price Amazon is selling them for. Buyer beware!

We ordered this product to hold all of our old VHS tapes, and our newer DVD's. This furniture is not expensive but looks as if it is. It also looks like a decorative accent piece, instead of looking functional. If you didn't know it was a media cabinet you would never guess. We are very happy with it and highly recommend it to everyone.

This is the second one I bought. Very sturdy nice color. Looks great in my living room. No messy cds or dvd's around.

This pedestal is perfect for hiding your CD's & DVD's. It's decorative and allows you to have your movies close by without affecting your decor with unsightly DVD cases. This is my second pedestal even though I don't have anything to put in it. I wanted to balance my entertainment center with something that looks great! Buy it. You won't be disappointed.

I was excited about getting this media-storage pillar. An earlier reviewer is correct in saying that the item does look pretty on first glance. However, it is not functional because when it arrived the top hinge was ripped from the wood.

Beware: This furniture is pre-assembled. And it is -Not- assembled with care.

The screws were drilled in at haphazard angles and upon arrival I saw that they had ripped through the wood and had split the paneling on the side. This is a load-bearing hinge, so the item is useless. Not only will it not function anymore, but it also does not look nice due to the front sagging.

Amazon kindly placed a replacement order, and when it arrived, it was damaged in exactly the same way!!! I am still trying to get this matter resolved and I am not going to be asking for a replacement.

Save yourself a lot of headache and do not purchase this item.

Amazon did not satisfy me on this order. I would recommend looking elsewhere for making furniture purchases as I tried to work with Amazon for a month to get this sorted out and they basically left me with a few hundred dollars worth of garbage.
