This CD took a few listens to really appreciate but now I am again finding myself humming certain songs all day long as I did with earlier CDs. Skip's voice in the song "It's Your Love" and the harmonizing is Cherryholmes at its best. Molly's sassy "Live It" is a very catchy tune. I feel I too quickly put a negative feed back on here at first and am doing a complete turn about. This is a great CD and continues to show the talent of this family. A 5 star!

I was lucky enough to discover the Cherryholmes quite recently when they played a concert in Phx. I had never heard of them and went in with a completely open mind and no expectations. Several of the songs from the cd were a part of the concert. I loved watching and listening to them perform that night...and love listening to them now. I put this cd into my car and have played it repeatedly for several weeks now.Their talents as musicians are quite amazing and listening to this cd will show anyone how very talented this entire family is. I think their harmonies both musically and vocally are incredible and look forward to seeing how they continue to grow in the future. The daughters vocals are quite pure and I would love to see them highlighted on their own cds. My favorite song is "weaver of lies" for the vocals, and "Tattoo of a smudge" for the amazing sounds of the instrumentals. If you don't come away tapping your feet after this Cd...then you have no love of music! ~smile~

IV is another great recording,

I have to agree with an earlier comment that this takes a few listens to really appreciate how great this cd is. Then I found I could not stop playing it, my favourite is still Cherryholmes III Don't Believe, as that contains Broken and its reprise which is the best track Cherryholmes have recorded..... so far. My very minor gripes are that some vocals seem slightly strained and the lyrics of some could be better. Having only one instrumental "Tattoo of a Smudge" considering their previous standouts: "Coastline", "Nine Yards" and "Sumatra" is a loss, but it is another classic. Cia has such talent as a singer and writer her compositions are always quality. "Weaver of Lies" is exceptional. I also love Mollys' "Live It" and "I am your conscience". Unfare not to mention the great mandolin and Guitar of BJ and Skip, this is a group effort though and its a another classy addition, roll on V. Musically this group are brave in progressing without being stuck in a time capsule which no doubt purists would like them to be.I have been fortunate to see Cherryholmes live on 3 occassions in Scotland and they are simply superb as are each of their cds. A great band playing great music.
