As a 29 year breeder of Chesapeakes, this book is "MUST" reading for anyone thinking of adding a Chesapeake to their family or becoming a CBR breeder. I am using this book as my "textbook" for a mentoring class on the breed. Very, VERY good!!!!

This is a very well written, all encompassing book about a unique breed. It is one I often turn too while raising my two chessies, Max and Leo. The book goes over everything from a brief history, breeding, proper health care, maitenance, and training. If you are considering acquiring this breed for yourself or your family this book is a must before you purcahse and after.

We just got our first Chessy in June from a great breeder in the eastern part of Washington State. Although they gave us a ton of information and another book, we wanted to consume all the information possible about this awesome breed in order to give our puppy the best experience possible.
This book has everything that you need to become an informed Chessy owner and it's very reasonably priced-- so if you are going to spend several hundred dollars on your next dog, it would help to spend the pittance on this book.

This is a more formal book on the breed, more info on showing and breeding than we needed, but a good book to refer to when people say ... as they always do ... is that a chocolate lab? we have learnt the formal breed standard to reply ... Great book if you are wanting to show or breed tho' ... ;o)
