This Publication represents something new on the chess scene - an attempt to establish a serious theoretical magazine in the English language. In so doing, we present no threat to the already long-established chess magazines, but rather do we attempt to supplement them. Our special province is the field of opening theory. With each passing tournament bringing a spate of innovations, it is almost impossible for the average player to keep up with them, especially so as most theoretical works are in a foreign language. This is where we come in to fill what is becoming a considerable gap in periodical chess literature. ... He is Chess Correspondent of The Times, The Sunday Times, The Spectator, and The International Herald Tribune. He is a prolific author of chess books, several of which are classics of the genre. He has organised three World Chess Championships.
