About the Author

*****

A physician, speaker, and former chemist, Barbara Ebel's writing draws heavily from her experience as an anesthesiologist, her dealings with family court, and her interactions with people and places from around the world.

Since Ebel writes credible medicine into the background of her novels and her O.R. scenes shine, it's no wonder the first in her Dr. Danny Tilson Novels, Operation Neurosurgeon, was the top finalist for best selling medical mystery books in 2012. (Best Selling Books' blog announced on PR Buzz Press Release Wire, Chicago, IL).  The ranking derives its roster of bestsellers from sources such as Amazon and Goodreads and uses readers' ratings, reviews and title sales for a blended score that creates each book's final rank.

In addition to her adult writing, she has illustrated and penned a children's book series called Chester the Chesapeake. The books developed after her philanthropic visits with her therapy dog, Chester. The dog continues to inspire adults and children alike. After publishing each Chester book, the question then is always, "when's the next one?"

Along with her husband and four pets, "Doctor Barbara" lives in a wildlife corridor in middle Tennessee. Her book, Silent Fear, the second of the Dr. Danny Tilson novels, was published in March of 2014.

My three year old daughter loves this book! As she has a dog of her own, she can really relate to the story about learning, compassion and kindness. She brought the book to her preschool one day to share with her class - it was a huge hit as kids can relate to animals so well. I love the personal touch given to the book by the author Barbara Ebel. It is lovely all around and would be a welcome addition to any child's book collection!

I really enjoyed reading this book to my grandkids. The pictures are cute and the comments are quite wry. Using photographs makes this story more "real" for children, and the gentle lessons put forth are a great inspiration for discussion.

Barbara Ebel is a favorite writter of mine, my grt.grands children, plus the 85 yr.old with bone cancer who lives with me known as Gram. Ebel's photography of the dogs and the surrounding areas taken, gave me hours of teaching lessons with my greatgrands who are 2yrs. to 7yrs. old, and learning about responsibilities of having pets. Where dogs and watersaefty can be fun, but also learning how there could be possibilities of saving a life, or fetching Agility toys. We discussed how proper grooming of these great dogs is a daily responsibility. The little stories each could make up as we went from page to page has given alot of self- confidence to a couple of shy ones in my family. Teaching them how to use and respect the Amazon Kindle, with these beautiful dogsphotos has led to them wanting to read more, and order new books to spend time with Granny. BB
