This intense, dark and flavorful chestnut honey is packed by hand in a traditional honey pot of terra cotta. It has a fuller flavor than delicate orange blossom - or even clover honey - and is an exceptional treat for the died-in-the wool honey connoisseur. Miel de Castaña is gathered from the bees that pollinate the flowers of chestnut trees growing in the high mountain and wooded regions of the Principality of Asturias, along the northern coast of Spain. Bee keepers, with great personal skill and attentiveness, harvest the chestnut (castaña) honey from honeycombs situated near natural parks in the Reserva of the Biosphere.
