Editorial Reviews

As a young man, legendary guitarist and music producer Chet Atkins found a way out of poverty when he picked up his first guitar and began to play. With exceptional talent and determination, Atkins eventually landed in Nashville where he was considered a pioneering force behind what would become known as "The Nashville Sound." Though a performer in his own right, it was Atkins’ ear for music and hit songs that made him a highly sought-after producer. He became instrumental in crafting the careers of such stars as Elvis Presley, Eddy Arnold, The Everly Brothers, Waylon Jennings and Charley Pride.

Revered by guitarists worldwide and loved by fans, Atkins was a guitar virtuoso whose musical influences spread beyond country and embraced pop and jazz. He leaves behind a body of work that will be remembered for its distinct flavor and Atkins’ ability to make it all look so easy.

i would like to know if there is more music performance or there are a bunch
of interviews or talking on this dvd..THE SECOND REVIEW said something about
performances not being complete. I want music and not a whole bunch of talking.

This video is NOT 60 minutes, as stated, but "approx. 45 minutes" the same as the "A Life In Music" DVD also listed with Amazon.

It is truly a problem when Amazon does not have accurate information for the products it lists for sale.

Now I have two copies of this identical documentary with the same people praising Chet Atkins, who truly was a master at the guitar.

I didn't realize that there were no complete performances on the DVD, but I enjoyed the views of the various artists. I was amazed to find that Chet influenced such a wide array of people in the music world. I was familiar with most of the artists, but one of the coolest things for me was discovering Tommy Emmanuel, another great guitarist!
