Chet's cooking up reading,

This review is from: Chet Gecko's Detective Handbook (and Cookbook): Tips for Private Eyes and Snack Food Lovers (Spiral-bound)
Chet Gecko, not to be confused with GEICO, solves mysteries with wit and punditry, and cooks up great stories as well. This collection includes several recipes sure to please even the most reptilian tastes, and entice kids (esp. boys) into reading more of the series. Once you read Chet Gecko, you can never listen to Garrison Keillors Adventures of Guy Noir without laughing out loud and thinking of Chet transported out of his lovely lizard body and into Mr. Noir's world. If the Sweet Potato Queens turned into geckos and wrote a book for kids, this would be the result.

This is a great and funny book. Even the recipes are pretty funny. Not only that this book is funny but it is also good at teaching kids how to be a Private Eye (PI). Another great thing about this book is that three authors worked together on it, which makes it very interesting. The recipes are great as well. The funniest thing about this book is when the bird and Chet Gecko write what they are saying. This is one of the funniest books I have ever read.

My twins love to read but they like books that are more make believe than stories about real people. This is perfect and a welcome addition to all the regular Chet Gecko books. The way it's written is fun... and the recipes afre real with funny titles. Not a lot of recipes but the book is very unique and enjoyable, page after page.
