Very disappointed in this manual. The book seller was great, arrived on time and in great condition but the manual itself leaves a lot to be desired. Disorganized and worthless photo illustrations, I had to buy the Chiltons manual as well. A much better book. My Haynes manual will be donated to the local library where it will gather dust instead of in my garage.

Not Haynes' best effort. Photos are not too crisp and the instructions I used so far are far too general. Would prefer torque specs with explanations or page number where they can be found referenced.

This manual is everything you could possibly need for wanting to repair your car, with detailed step, by step instructions on just about everything on the car, With photos. If you want to save money and fix your own car, Haynes manual is the way to go. I strongly suggest this for experienced mechanics, and people who dont really know much at all.

I love Haynes manuals, I buy one for each car I own. They're great not only for repairs, but to see if I should bring it to the shop instead of doing it myself.

With the above said, they Haynes manuals are written a lot like the manufacturer service manuals, which are quite barebones. Specifically in this S10 manual when I was changing out my starter I couldn't get it out and had to loosen the flywheel inspection cover to get the starter in/out. This wasn't mentioned in the manual but I've read online that a lot of people needed to do this step. I'm sure for a schooled mechanic this would have been a 'no duh' situation, but as corroded as my under carriage was I couldn't tell if it was part of the transmission or not at my skill level. Now I've gotten to the point where I'd go 'no duh'. ;)

Finding things in them can be a real pain, many times I search the index or the chapter headers and when I go to the section the information I wanted doesn't exist.

In summary, the book is better then nothing, and it has saved me a fortune so I'm still of the mind that it's a must have. In a few years I'll likely not need one anymore.

If your thinking of using this vs the official service manual, I'd get this. The service manuals are broken into about 8 different manuals for each vehicle, and every time I wanted something (say fuel pump) I'd need a different manual. I bought 1 and after it was nearly identical to haynes I gave up and havn't looked at it again.

The manual I purchased was a very good deal & arrived promptly, I was very pleased & would recommend this company to my friends.

This book is very helpful to me. I do all my own work on my truck and this book makes every step clear and easy. If you are working on your own vehicle and need a little help this book is for you.

This is a general book to help with high level maintenance. If you have an older truck and need help finding where to change the fluids, this book is helpful.
Not a real shop manual by a stretch.
