This is an excellent manual especially if you are a beginner and no little or nothing about cars. I know nothing about automotive repair but found the book easy to understand and VERY straightforward. My metro has 360,000 miles and I am the original owner. I usually pay people to work on the car but because of it's high mileage now I would be better off fixing it myself. It's just not worth sinking anymore money than I have to in it. The extensive number of photos in the book are great and helpful. The only fault I find in this book is the cheap paper it's printed on but for this price I really should not complain.

I have several Haynes manuals and overall they are so-so at best but this one is really lacking. They claim it's based on a complete tear down but apparently their car didn't have pistons, rods, or a crankshaft because there is no mention of those other than bore and stroke and rod bolt and main cap torque. No info on journal sizes and tolerances, piston and bore tolerances, ring end gaps or groove tolerances or anything else a person might want to know when working on those parts of their engine.

I think I've finally learned my lesson and will just stick to Chilton from now on, even if I have to order them online and wait a week...

If you are looking for Geo Motor rebuild book, do not buy this one. The motor rebuild is a couple of general discussion paragraphs.
