This book is great for Chevy Sprint owners, but aweful if you've got a Geo Metro. Electrical diagrams and diagnostic explanation are few and far between, and overall the book ignores or barely glazes over the details for a Geo. The title is deceptive and the "2-cars-for-1" concept is false.

For a good geo metro repair manual, purchase the Chiltons 89-93 Manual. It will also cover 94 geo metros, which are identical to 93, except the half-metal bumper was replaced by a whole-rubber one. Later models (95-2000) are extremely similar, but they also have slight differences. This book will also help for general maintenance on those cars.

The book was based upon a disassembly of a Sprint and not a Metro and there are significant and annoying differences. A lot of the content is copied verbatim from other books, and I'm not sure that it is all accurate.

This book will help you perform common repairs, but is maddeningly silent on a number of other ones (e.g. swapping radios). Also it isn't as detailed as some of their other books.

I'd buy it again, only because it is useful, but I don't like it, and given that very few mechanics see Geos, it doesn't explain enough.

Most of the book is on the older Sprints. Not much on the newer Geo Metros. Very little on trouble shooting electrical problems. No schematics, only flow diagrams. Very little detail on additional options. Good for mechanical problems.<BR,,,,

Good price an good service. Will not mind doing business again with them. I needed one of these and was surprised to find it on here.

I was needing a service manual for my "new" 1990 Metro. The manual was in near perfect condition and shipped quickly.

It's not that big of a deal. I have an old car and I didn't want to buy a brand new manual for it. Amazon has these sellers that sell used items at a bargain.
I found the Haynes Manual for my car listed here and the seller only wanted a couple of bucks for it. That plus standard shipping saved me anywhere from 7 or more dollars.

The manual was listed as 'light use' or something to that effect and when I got it, all the pages were in good shape. There was a Post It on one of the pages from the previous user. Also a couple of highlighted portions with a pen and some maintenance notes here and there. No big deal. It's exactly what I needed.

It bothers my wife that sometimes I look over the manual before I go to sleep.
"Why are you reading that!!??" she'd say.
Ha, I'd think, she just doesn't get men.

As far as the manual goes, it provides handy information. For instance, it enlightened me as to where the fuel filter was located. It provides handy troubleshooting advice, in particular a possible vacuum leak I think is going on and how to go about targeting the culprit.
The Haynes manuals give plenty of tips for general maintenance and a good idea of where to venture according to your skill level or tool availability.
I'm glad I'm not the one completely tearing down a car and writing the manual, but it is valuable information to the common car owner who has a hankering for a little DIY and saving a buck.
