5.0 out of 5 stars essential for teething babies!!!
I bought these for my 7 month old son who was teething with a vengeance and he loves them. They are perfect for holding and moving around. I even put them in the freezer so they are even more soothing for his sore gum's.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little too tough for our purpose
These chews are as described, but a little too hard for our needs. My son uses his chews for sensory needs, and these just don't "give" enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good tool for biting..., January 8, 2010

This review is from: Chewy Tubes P's and Q's (Health and Beauty)
The Ps and Qs were recommended to me by my son's daycare. He started biting at 12 months of age, far to young to understand the standard biting protocol at the daycare which is timeout and verbal statement "We don't bite our friends". He was teething at the time which did not help. He does not bite to get stuff, and seemed to bite in times of frustration. He likes to be alone or off to the side of a group, so when the teacher set him into the middle of the class, he would bite while trying to crawl over to another place to sit. He has been wearing the P or Q on a pacifier attacher almost every day at school for several months. Having something available to chew on seems to distract him from chewing on other kids. Now that he is old enough to understand the words "No biting" (18 months), we use the words and give him something to chew on, either the P or Q.

He does not have a preference for P or Q and seems to chew on both equally. They are very durable and show basically no wear after almost six months of use during daycare hours only. He does not bite at home or church, so we only use the Ps and Qs at daycare. He is still a biter, but now he is in a class with one other biter and they pretty much bite the Ps and Qs or each other and leave the nonbiting kids alone. Within a week of using the Ps and Qs, our number of bites per day dropped dramatically.

My first son never bit anything, but used a pacifier until he was 2. This whole biting situation has been extremely frustrating for us, but the Ps and Qs really seemed to help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sensory Integration, August 16, 2011
This review is from: Chewy Tubes P's and Q's (Health and Beauty)
Our son has Sensory Integration disorder and the Q has been a life saver as the window sill in his room is completely chewed down to the metal guard. This has been very helpful in reducing his finger and toe biting issues also.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome for teethers as well, December 7, 2009

This review is from: Chewy Tubes P's and Q's (Health and Beauty)
A few months ago, a woman who was a speech therapist gave me a "Q" while I was at a restaurant with my baby. She told me to hold off giving it to her until 4 months of age, which I did. My daughter is eight months old now, and since she was 4 months old, this is her favorite thing to chew on, by far. I realize its not marketed as a teether, but it is awesome as a teether. The Q shape is easy for her to grab onto and hold, and the little nub is just enough for hitting different areas of her gums. I have since purchased another set since we use it so much, its great to have two lying around.

"These are great for my son. Since chewing them, he no longer chews on our various items throughout the house. He cannot choke on the P's and Q's because of their design and they offer great proprioceptive stimulation for him."

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what my kids needed!, December 3, 2011

I have two little ones with sensory processing issues....they seek sensory input orally ALL THE TIME and one of them will chew on ANYTHING. The P's & Q's are WONDERFUL! Just the right size and density to satisfy their need to chew and great shapes too. Can also easily be connected to a lanyard.

I recommend this to other parents often.

Having seen these used for oral stimulation for (much improved) sensory defensive beloved grandchild, I bought this pair as a gift for a teething grandnephew. His mom reports they are useful, helpful, and very popular. What more can you ask? [...]
