My boyfriend purchased this bed set for our new apartment. A 7 piece bed set? Pretty awesome for the price, even including the ridiculous shipping. To their credit, the company ships really fast. 300 thread count sounds good, but not when it is 100% polyester. The material is very, very scratchy. But the whole bed set looks awesome - black and white damask? Sigh. So pretty. Especially with my shabby chic theme. Take note that this bed set has a moderate sheen. Therefore, the white is not as crisp white as it appears in the picture. It is a very slight off white because of the way light hits the material. Also, all the black areas in the bed set is made with this uncomfortable, velvet posing material. The visual effect of the faux black velvet with the sateen-like white makes the black damask print appear raised. Not everyone may like this effect if you are looking just for a 2D print. I, on the other hand, actually prefer this 3D effect. It makes it somewhat like bed artwork. The pillows/cushions all need a good fluffing, being squished for so long. So I'm okay with this bed set - in short, if you are just looking for aesthetics, this bed set is pretty nice. Not terribly expensive looking to the trained eye, but most people aren't. The visual effect of the damask would probably be more than enough to wow guests. However, if you need to be surrounded in something that feels better than a potato sack, this may not be for you. I don't have that sensitive of skin, so the aesthetics and price win it for me. I am planning to purchase a high thread count sheet set (100% cotton this time) to compromise with the scratchiness - this may be an adequate solution for others as well. Note that my boyfriend and I are college students with higher taste than we should have, considering that we are always living on a budget. Therefore, this bed set is a good compromise for those who may be on a budget as well.

I have looked at several bed sets and this one caught my eye. It is exactly the look I am searching for. It arrived and I was so excited. The set is beautiful. The white is crisp and clean and the velvet flocking looks beautiful. My bedroom has truly become my personal retreat.

Item fits bed very well; Comfortable and lofty filling. The skirt is made of velvet type fabric - looks rich and has nice pleat detailing. Didn't receive 4 stars because the backing on the comforter and shams is more off-white and when the comforter is turned down it's noticeable. I would recommend - especially for the $60 + ship.

I love this comforter set, until I washed it. It looks really nice, but has a lot of cons. I used it for about 2 months then decided to wash it.The black stained the white portion of the comforter. The thread started coming apart. I can keep going, but my advice is just don't buy it. Save your money.

PROS:
Gorgeous idea. I loved the print (I am a sucker for damask) but didn't want a busy fully-damasked bedset. It's a crisp and elegant idea. My room is completely black and white and it looks great with my black furniture.


CONS:
Comforter is thin; I have a down duvet under it to add fullness to bed. The pillows I put in the shams are a little yellowed and you can see that right through the sham material. I had to purchase pillow covers to go in between.

Also, the floral pattern is NOT CENTERED between the two black stripes. I am a little OCD so this really bothers me. It never looks like the bed is made properly because either the stripes look off or the floral part looks off.

It was a nice comforter set given for my daughter's birthday. She likes them very much as they brightened up her bedroom.

What a beautiful comforter set. My granddaughter had her heart set on this one and we waited a long time for it to come back in stock. She is very pleased and it looks terrific. It also laundered well. We are very pleased.

I love this bed set! The room I designed is black, white, and pink with damask fabric. I thought a pure printed damask comforter set would be too busy and this is perfect. It all looks exactly like the picture! I made damask printed pillow cases and a larger neck roll to accent. It also does not come with sheets, so I used plain black. I bought a full size and it fits perfectly on the full size bed I have. The only problem I had is that it is very scratchy. The two shams that came with it are not comfortable to rest your face on so I suggest taking them off before sleeping, but if you're under a sheet anyhow then the comforter doesn't much matter! I haven't washed it yet so I'm not sure how it will hold, hopefully it won't be destroyed (I may take it to a dry cleaners just so I can avoid messing it up)! I received it about one and a half weeks after ordering which is great. It's a very gorgeous set especially for the price! I am VERY happy with my purchase!

I am very happy with my new comforter set and pillows. It's not super soft, due to all the material used, but it's not harshly scratchy either. My cats love it, too!! Fast shipping was definetly a plus.

I've had this bedding for over a year now and it has yet to fail me! I am in love with it. It makes my master bedroom so romantic looking. I would say the drawbacks would be that the "white" parts are very rough, so not the best for laying down on top of. But it hasn't bothered me. The black is very soft though. I love the contrast of the two types of materials. I pared this up with a shower curtain from Burlington ($20- I posted a picture) Bath and Body works has a curtain that matches this almost identical but it's $50.

I do have to agree with the part that the "underside" of the comforter is an off white, and you can very well tell when it is folded down. but when we make the bed it's not folded down so the presentation part is all bright white.
