In January my family, all over the U.S. has a contest to see who can grow the longest Chia Pet. The Alligator is awsome. If it grows its impressive. If you fail, like I did, it still looks like what a swamp thing looks like with moss and stuff on it. Our family Starts on January 2 and see's who can grow the best, longest or most creative Chia Pet. We show the progress on Facebook and the jokes begin. The package is complete and fresh seed. Bragging rights go to the winner...For the next year you only need to buy the seed packet and your off again. Forget the pet rock. This is a real skill in January when your surrounded by dark clouds and 10 Ft of snow around your house...It's catchy...
I got this chia pet. It is awesome. it's really simple. soak the clay planter in water. get a bowl put some seeds not too much and not the whole packet. and put some water in the bowl and soak the seed in water. when you are finished soaking for 1 day. spread the seed all over the clay planter, and pour water in the hole. and put it over a tray. that's it. I don't use the tray, instead i put it over a dish.
you can cut it, trim it. and etc.
Be sure to replace the water then it's empty. When the water is all over the dish or the tray you can re-use that water but i suggest you replace the water instead of reusing it. it will give it a fresh clean feeling. don't use the same water or if the water is sitting there for along time and the water is old, replace it. give a clean fresh feeling like i said before. other than that it is a funn simple gift you can give to anyone!
