Editorial Reviews

In 1985, the Chicago Bears were headed for the Super Bowl for the first time in more than 20 years. Riding high on the success of the season, members of the Bears recorded "The Super Bowl Shuffle," which soon became celebrated anthem for Bears fans everywhere. This first-ever rap song and music video by a sports team even garnered a Grammy nomination. At Super Bowl XX, the Bears charged down the field once more with a 46-10 victory over the New England Patriots. This 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition DVD is a must-have for both old and new fans who want to relive the glory of the 1985 season.

So sure that they were going to win the Super Bowl, the Chicago Bears filmed this masterpiece well before they were even close to the game!

They call him "Hit Man", but he doesn't know what it means.

I was barely even alive(2 months) when da' bears won the super bowl, so I never got to see this until about 3 years ago. Ever since then, come playoff season, I start shuffling round the house. i was born and raised in the suburbs of chicago, and have always followed the bears. I recommend this for anyone who saw Super Bowl XX, love the bears, or just want a good time.

The '85 Bears was the greatest football team in the history of the NFL. In 1985, the Bears were filled with people who were not only great football players, but who also had colorful personalities.
The Superbowl Shuffle is a great 5 minute song, but the video is so much more. Seeing Jim McMahon play the saxophone will blow you away! The Punky QB known as McMahon plays the sax almost as well as he throws the pill!
You've got to see Gary Fencik. They call him "Hit Man", but he doesn't know what it means. Watch Richard Dent. If the quarterback's slow, he's gonna get bent. The only person who should have been left out of the video was Steve Fuller. Fuller says that "when I'm not there, the feathers ruffle". However, you may recall that his bonehead plays cost the Bears their undefeated season - he was the quarterback during the loss to Miami on Monday Night Football in '85.
Anyway, buy this video and take a romp down memory lane. You'll love it. The Super Bowl Shuffle is also definitely one of the best rap songs ever made. This song brought rap to mainstream America!!!

So sure that they were going to win the Super Bowl, the Chicago Bears filmed this masterpiece well before they were even close to the game! How cool is that? I was 12 years old, living in Chicago, when this first appeared. Loved it then. Love it now.

Fun. Upbeat. Funky. Feel good. This was the cherry on the top of the Bears Super Bowl season. The video and sound is dated - not even up to par for 1985. It would be nice if it could be enhanced a/v wise. It contains an 'OK' making of featurette. My only gripe about the content is the fact the QB Jim McMahon and RB Walter Payton (R.I.P.) didn't actually appear in the studio with the rest of the players on the video. Their performances were super imposed after the fact. I wonder if either of them regretted not going into the studio with the rest of the guys. For 10 bucks you could do worse with your entertainment dollar. For us, it's an annual event to re-watch this on Super Bowl Sunday. Kinda like watching "A Chrismas Story" as an anuual ritual.
