Kay Harmonica Pack,
This review is from: Chicago Blues Harmonica Gift Set
You get what you pay for. Get 7 harmonicas for the price of one and well its not so good. 3 of the 7 harps have reeds that are blown out after very little use. Unless you are buying this for the kids suggest you invest the xtra bucks and pay for a decent harp. Thanks but no thanks

What you want to know...,

...is if these Harps work. They work fine, which implies a shortcoming and couldn't be more innacurate. A Hyndai is not a Nissan. In this price range the reeds are the issue and these reeds work as intended. In other words - the reeds are not the issue.
The construction is far out of line with the price. I expected poor quality. I found these harps individually priced at several outlets $3-$5. $5 is what I would have thought reasonable. The construction is in line with a Hohner Marine Band I've got that is about 10 years old. The Clear plastic Kay comb vs black plastic Hohner. The covers are "foil covered" and not solid as the Hohner - in fact one of them has a flaking issue but is limited to the one and is probably a QA issue. One big construction issue - If you have facial hair you may need to adjust all the covers. My Hohner Marine covers are of the same construction - die cut plate hammerd and folded. The flanges for the screw hole have a small gap where they fold down and meet the mouthpiece. The gap can be lessend to avoid getting your beard caught. The Odor issue is an issue. There is a distinct scent of freshly molded plastic coming from the case's inserts. It is not pleasant and annoyingly subtle. I've smelled io before on new kids toys of the same plastic type. Each Harp is affected to some degree but vastly improves even over one day by allowing the Harps and case to breath in the open air. Once the plastic cures properly the smell should slowly fade to only memory while your case and harps will smell like your spit. The case is not one you'd take on the road but of suitable construction. Not in the pictures provided the case cover is not the gaudy art picture - it is a very understated one color (gold or brass color lettering) version of it not nearly as lame. The pictures show a sleve the the case is covered by that you remove upon recieving the shipment.

Great set works perfectly,
This review is from: Chicago Blues Harmonica Gift Set
I recieved my first set shortly before christmas and they work and play great. I must say that I am a hobbyist at this point and haven't played with these on a stage. However I have jammed with my friends and the sound quality is medium to good if not great I highly recommend these harps for those of us on a budget.
PS Id bought two sets of these thinking that they werent the greatest quality. Boy was I wrong. The first set is still working and the second is put away for when these harps give out..
