Good value but fair quality. Stainless not so stainless after 1 yr.
on August 23, 2013
A good value and overall, a good product. The knives look solid and have held up well for the most part, particularly compared with other knives I've owned. That being said, the knives don't hold an edge all that long. The quality of steel used is fair, but then again, this is not Gerber or german steel. I was a bit disappointed to find most of my steak knives have numerous rust spots now after a year. Steel yes. Stainless steel? Hmmm. Not mine. In the end, you get what you pay for. A reasonable priced set of reasonable knives.
Update 11/16/13: I originally liked the tang/rivet free design and thought the blade blending into the bolster would work as well as it looked. I was disappointed that I broke a blade just past the bolster this evening while cutting a piece of ginger. Not much pressure or stress. Just kind of snapped. I'm just happy I didn't cut my hand. I posted a photo of the rust spots last time. Look in the photo section for the new photo I'm posting now.
