My guy is the chef in our house. I buy him all the tools and gadgets. He cooks 3 meals a day, and usually a few snacks, too. We're pretty much vegan, and we eat a lot of veggies. I bought him this knife a while ago, maybe a few years back? Recently, I asked him how he liked his knives (I've bought him a few) and he reported that he liked this one the best and it's really the only knife he uses. He'll use the other-brand santoku every once in a while, for larger items, but he says he uses this for pretty much everything else.

When I asked him why he liked it, he said that it feels good in his hand and it's easy to use. Plus, he noted that it reminds him of an "old man's fishing knife", which is a good thing.

While I was inspecting it, I noticed that it needed a good sharpening and the handle had a hairline crack in the top red part (dock a star for the crack, indicating lesser durability).

He still wants the knife, so I'm back on Amazon to buy an AccuSharp Sharpener (he doesn't like using the Henckels Steel I bought for him). I was planning on buying him some expensive knives for the holidays, but he seems really attached to this little guy, so I'll buy him the sharpener, so he can happily keep on cutting our veggies. And, I'll spend the $75 I saved, on a portable induction cook-top (but, don't tell him, it's a surprise)!

When I saw this Cayenne 4 1/2 inch knife on sale, I thought weelll I'll try it for the price. When it came I immediately started using it. I love this knife, it has a good balance to it and cuts like a dream. After a few times of using it, I decided I would like to have some more of these knives, so I ordered a whole set and I am very pleased with them too.
