Great Bread Knife!
I bought this product because my old bread knife was one of those very thin, 1960's models. I could not slice a loaf of bread evenly with it. The Centurion has a good balance and weight in my hand. I can slice through a loaf of 100% wholewheat bread, and the slices come out just like I want them to. Excellent knife, I'm glad I purchased it.

It's a bread knife, but not a good one
After looking at the positive reviews for this knife, I was expecting a solid entry. It does what it's supposed to do: cut bread, but not easily or crumblessly. Even a fresh baguette requires some extra effort. If I was buying another bread knife (which I'm considering now after having had this knife for 6 months now), I'd definitely not get this one.

Chicago Cutlery makes really decent knives for the price. I now own two different knives and am quite impressed with the quality. Heavy duty, sturdy handles... good weight to them.

I found this knife to be a bit too sturdy- I know that this sounds strange. The knife is so sturdy that when cutting, it removes too much bread.

disappointed after washing,

I was disappointed after using my knife for the first time then placing it in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes and my steak knives. When I removed the knife the next morning I noted some rust spots on the blade. Good sharp knife but hand wash it and dry it immediately.
