I purchased this set on clearance from Sears and was pretty excited since we have another knife set by Chicago cutlery that has been very good to us. I'm not so pleased with these. they are great looking and the blades are super sharp, but from the first wash I had knives rusting in spots that I cannot figure out how to remove. They were washed by hand and allowed to air dry, so I'm not sure if this is the cause, but I'd say 4 knives out of the set have had this problem. I wasn't aware stainless steel was supposed to rust.

I got these steak knives because they very closely match my existing Chicago Cutlery knife set. The only difference is these knives have solid handles, slightly 'flattened'. My other knives are hollow stainless handles and are more ballooned out. The quality and weight of the knives are great for the price. They work wonders on any steak, and are my only serrated knives (besides a bread knife), so they work great for anything I might need serrations for.

My only complaint is the included box isn't very helpful. Its plastic liner molded to fit the knives isn't very practical to store them. I keep them on a magnetic knife strip. The only benefit I can think of for the box is easy gift giving, otherwise don't concider it in the value of the set because you will most likely throw it away.

I purchased these knives on a whim because they were on a nice sale and I'm really happy with them.

The knives are heavy, which I like, and sturdy. They feel good in your hand and they look very nice with my silverware, which is stainless steel with a matte finish. I think they will compliment any type of stainless flatware, though.

They are really sharp and cut amazingly well. (I've had other Chicago Cutlery sets which weren't as sharp, or nice, as these.) The only thing I was disappointed about was that I didn't know they were serrated... but that's okay because they're nice knives.

I don't wash my knives, any of them, in the dishwasher, so I can't say how well they will hold up if that's how they are frequently washed, but I've had them for a few weeks and they've held up very nicely after being handwashed several times; there's been no rust or anything.

For everyday steak knives they are perfect. I don't know how they will hold up over time since I've only had them about four weeks.

Well worth the money. Nicely made,and not flimsy. comfortable in your hand while cutting steak ,etc. Great price. Do not look elsewher,buy from Amazon. I was missing one knife upon delivery. Within in two days received the missing piece. Again Amazon you are the best.beautifully made and sturdy. Do not overlook this item.

We are very pleased with these knives. I like the design and they clean very well in the dishwasher. The case is very helpful as well. I would recommend these knives.

Really don't like steak knives with wooden handles or nooks and crannies that get food and other contaminants in them.

This are well designed, weighted well. One solid piece, looks simple and nice and will go well with any set of flatware. Well unless one has some really elaborate solid silver set. But for everyday use and casual company, these are great. I have been looking for something like this for a while. Love the box, love it all.

Tempted to buy a second set in case these are discontinued or... would be a great gift too. Oh just remembered my flatware set is for 12...guess I will have to buy another set, oh well :-)

But the price is a little pricey almost $5 each. But if these last as I suspect then it will be worth it.

Love these knives. Come out of the dishwasher beautifully. Look great, cut great and are the perfect weight. Highly recommend.

I have been using my Knives for over a year now and they are still sharp. These knives were purchased for a Christmas gift for someone who has used them at my house. She made it known that she would like a set. I think she is happy with them because she would have let me know if shw wasn't.

These knives are sharp and attractive. They even look great with our stainless flatware pattern. They slice through steaks and chops with very little effort and make nice clean cuts. They're a nice weight and can go into the dishwasher (something I never did with our old wooden handled steak knives). We love these knives. And "9 piece set" refers to the 8 knives and the box.

These knives are fabulous...heavy weight, attractive & very sharp. My husband and children even noticed. I hand wash mine (which I hate) as other reviews said they will get water stained in the dishwasher.
