A nice piece of metal--or so I thought,

This is a nice piece of metal, not a flimsy piece of junk. I use it with the rack for broiling in my toaster oven. I like the depth because it contains lateral splatters. (The exact size is 10 x 6.9 x 1.8 inches deep; the removable rack rests 3/4 of an inch above pan's bottom). It cleans easily, however, it might be a good idea to spray Pam in it before use.
UPDATE, July 2009: After four months of use I notice signs of rusting at the bottom of the pan. If I had used Pam from the very beginning this might not have occurred. Also, I don't know if washing it in the dishwasher might have prompted the rusting. I contacted the Chicago Metallic Company. Here is what they told me: "While there are consumer pans that bear the brand name 'Chicago Metallic' there is only one Chicago Metallic that carries the Bundy Eagle and offers pans that are made exclusively in the USA. Our pans represent the industry's highest standards for quality, service and durability and we are sure that after you use our pans there will be no doubt as to which Chicago Metallic you prefer. "The Chicago Metallic Nonstick Petite Broil & Roast Pan is not made by us. It is made in China by Focus Products, Inc. We sold them the rights to use our name back in '04." Wholly surprised by this revelation I found myself wondering, "What do we have here? A plot to deceive the public?" Chicago Metallic is allowing another company to use their good name (yes, they do enjoy a leading reputation) whether that company produces top quality merchandise or not. Corporate greed rules the day. I would have been very upset were it not for the rather low price of this item. I contacted Focus Products. They told me the following: "This pan is not supposed to rust, but if you are using 'hard water' there could be a problem. The pan is dishwasher safe, but make sure that it is situated upside down in your machine so that there won't be any standing water in the pan during or after the drying cycle." Note: the superintendent of my building says that we do not have hard water. He suggests I use the dishwasher's "Quick Wash" cycle rather than the "Heavy Duty" cycle that I had been using. I know you might be wondering why I don't just wash it by hand, but it's easier for me to dump it all (pan and rack) into the dishwasher and be done with it. If I have to replace this combo every four months I guess it's still worth the money; that is, until I can find something better. Meanwhile, regarding my two star rating, I've been criticized for being "inordinately generous". Folks, this is not a product that can be reviewed right out of the box. I urge reviewers to update their reviews. Pigs at the Trough: How Corporate Greed and Political Corruption Are Undermining America

A great fit for countertop ovens,
By Pastry Princess (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews

I have a countertop microwave convection oven, and this item is a great fit. THE PAN: While the pan was designed to catch any juices/excess oil from roasting, the pan may be used on its own as it is deep enough for making oven fries, roasting vegetables, making lasagna. THE RACK: The rack can fit one medium sized chicken, or two cornish hens side by side. The height of the rack is just right; it is high enough to let the hot air circulate underneath the item being cooked (e.g. reheating slices of pizza or deep fried foods), but it still has some clearance below the flange of the outer pan to minimize spatters outside the pan. I'm very happy with this item.

I have spent a really long time looking for a decent pan for my Cuisinart Convection Oven. They were either too big or too small or too flimsy. I trust the Chicago Metallic quality, having many of their oven pans purchased from high end gourmet retailers. This two piece set includes a multi-use grill. The pan is a good heavyweight; the non-stick finish is sturdy (unless you take a knife to it, why would you do that?) and easy to clean. Highly recommend this set.

Would have been perfect if it was stainless steel.,

This petite roast pan had excellent reviews and a even greater price point so I was excited to purchase it. It just seemed to be the perfect size for one portion cooking or reheating and also small enough to fit a toaster oven. Now, I am not the greatest fan of nonstick cookware but I figured I'd be okay this this item given again the size issue.
First use, I didn't have any problems just minor sticking at some of the edges of the baking rack. Soaking the rack in warm soapy water gave for an easy clean up. After a few more uses I notice the corners of the pan began to turn another color. My oven can get a little "hotter" than the preferred temperature but I have never had any of my other larger pans do this nor have I ever had any glass burst in my oven. I am not sure if the coating was peeling, or it could not withstand the heat, or just a dud in a batch. Nevertheless, I thought it was best to return it. If this had been a completely stainless steel piece, I would have truly been satisfied. In the interim, I was able to locate a petite stainless steel roast pan and found a stainless steel rack to fit in it. Chicago Metallic, please offer another variety of this nice size pan.

Great little pan,

This is a great little baking pan for small ovens. I have a GE Profile Stove with dual ovens and this pan is just the right size for the smaller top over. It cleans up very easy, is well made and is just the right size for a 2lb meatloaf. I love this pan!

Great Multi Tasker,
This review is from: Chicago Metallic 26639 Nonstick Petite Broil & Roast Pan (Kitchen)
Fits a good sized whole chicken breast or 4 strips of bacon. Rack is tall enough to place diced veggies in the bottom while roasting your protein on the rack.
Also makes a great small biscotti pan or scalloped potato baker.

Just received this a week ago and have already used it 3 times (and love it). I have been looking for something I could use in my convection toaster oven for years and all I found were cheesy things that were a waste of money.
I have ordered 2 more in case the company goes out of business for producing a really good product :).

These roasting pans are really great! They have a very good solid heavy weight and they are just the size that I need for my one person household. I purchased two of them and I use either one or both almost every evening.

I've had this product for about a year, and was very disappointed in the quality. I use it in my Nuwave Oven, since the size is perfect, and the non-stick coating has started to peel off of the tray. I've never washed it harshly, used metal instruments, or any of the things you're not supposed to do. Extremely disappointed. Since I can't find any stainless steel for "toaster oven" size without non-stick coatings, I think I'll look for something ceramic/stoneware instead.
