Pretty, but not a cookie mold,

I'm quite expert at making molded cookies of all kinds, and I was quite pleased to find this pan. However, it is not a cookie mold. Actually, chocolate is the only material for which the manufacturer provides instructions.
The pan is quite handsome as a piece of kitchen decor, and may well work with chocolate. But you'll be disappointed if you try to make cookies with it. It does not make nearly clear enough prints in cookie dough--you can hardly tell what the pictures on the cookies are supposed to be. Reading the other reviews, it appears that neither reviewer had actually used the pan at the time the reviews were written.

Not for cookies,

I found this pan at a Joann store on sale. Final purchase price $15. I agree with other reviewers that it is a beautiful pan and makes wonderful molded chocolates. Though it does take some practice. So far I've tried it with shortbread once and the pictures don't come out clear enough. Good advice on chocolate making from the other reviewer. I would add that the pieces are rather large, so you may want to keep them thin, which makes them easier to cut apart but more fragile esp with tempered chocolate. Once bag of Wilton melts seems to work just fine. Overall it is a beautiful pan either to display give as a gift, or use to make chocolate gifts. I would purchase it again, and $20.00 is the right price.

EXQUISITE christmas mold,

I was a bit apprehensive about buying this pan. It looked so beautiful in the pictures, but would it really be that nice, or would it be flimsy and have shallow impressions? To my amazement it is everything I had hoped for. It is a gorgeous work of art. I have already made it as a gift(very quick with a 12 ounce pack of Wilton chocolate), and as an entry in our church bake sale. The 2 packs of 12 chocolates were among the first items to sell, and the buyer was delighted. They make an exquisite hostess gift. Tip--Look up and copy the meaning and/or words to the song for inclusion.
I would highly recommend this pan to anyone interested in making quick, highly appreciated gifts for the holidays. Do not worry about receiving it in time. I ordered Sunday night and received it early Wednesday. By-the-way: It is a nice thick pan, and I should be able to use, and proudly display it, for many years. For best unmolding of chocolate, allow chocolate to cool on kitchen counter, then place in freezer for about 15 minutes. It will pull away from the sides a bit. Place a clean kitchen towel tighty over top to prevent candy from falling when it unmolds. It unmolds so easily that it will hit the counter and break-- I learned the hard way. Gently cut with warm knife (dip knife in hot cup of water, then wipe dry). Allow candy to come back to room temp before wrapping. I hope you enjoy this mold as much as I have.
