Nice cookie sheet, sturdy & thick.

It left a sticky line of goo that I worked hard to remove and couldn't get off without marring the surface.

Not sure why they didn't finish or round off the rough edges on them, seems obvious.

I read all the reviews about the sharp edges and the impossible-to-remove label on the pan. I have similar Chicago cookie sheets and wanted to buy more. But I was worried because of the bad reviews. I knew I could return it, though, so I gave it a go. Well, there was no need to worry. The cookie sheet is exactly the same as the one I bought years ago in a store, though the newer one doesn't have a Chicago stamp in the center. The label came off very easily. The company must have listened to the reviews because the label, which is almost as large a sheet of paper, was taped onto the cookie sheet with double-sided tape. It left no residue when I removed it. I have had no problem with the edges of the pan being too sharp and the ones I have had for many years have never warped. This is a heavy-duty, no-frills cookie sheet but it bakes cookies evenly and is very manageable (the thin "sharp" edge is easy to grab with oven mitts). Now that I've tested it, I'm going to buy another, just in time for holiday baking!

Other reviewers indicated the edges are sharp, indeed.

The GLUE used to attach the label is crazy!?! Seems like something from NASA. Goo-be-gone - couldn't take it off, boiling hot water, nope, had to SCRUB with an ABRASIVE pad my brand new cookie sheet. Does that make sense to ANYONE?!?!

Was there a serious threat of the label being stolen?

this is a classic thin steel pan with a buff aluminum outer coating that curtails rust and allows cookies to be slid off easily. i received my order 9-Mar 2012 and there was no glue or stickers on the pan, as was pointed out as a major problem in a couple earlier reviews. the problem with stickers therefore appears to be fixed, at least when the product is shipped from and sold by amazon.com. honestly, the edges are not sharp, in contrast to the observation of another reviewer. don't vigourously rub the edges of the pan against your flesh (common sense, folks!).

Terrible product - arrived unusable. This Chicago Metallic cookie sheet arrived with marketing paper super glued to the cooking surface. Over an hour of scrubbing, scouring and frustration resulted in the glue becoming a dark black color and spreading further across the surface. Nothing will remove it short of grinding off the surface of the metal. If the FDA was doing their job, this glue would be banned from use on cooking products. If unthinking morons didn't dominate the corporate world, this wouldn't be an issue. Any 2nd grader would know not to put this garbage on a cooking product. Chicago Metallic should be ashamed of themselves.

I had high hopes for these because Cook's Illustrated recommended this brand. I wish I hadn't bought them, the edges are rough and they hurt to handle. This is particularly bad when you are washing them and have soapy water and trying to hold onto these. Not sure why they didn't finish or round off the rough edges on them, seems obvious. Spare your hands the aggravation and keep looking, wish I had!

Our kitchen space allows only a 24" stove. Most quality cookie sheets won't fit our oven. After much searching for a product that would be of high quality and would fit my oven, I turned to Cook's Illustrated, the consumers source for extensive study of kitchen equipment. They recommended the Chicago metallic cookie sheet for it's quality and performance. I coudn't be happier with those sheets. My chocolate chip cookies come out perfect.

Nice cookie sheet, sturdy & thick. The outside edges are rounded, not sharp. I haven't used it yet, but wanted to contribute to the ongoing review topic of "the label is impossible to get off" for this item. The label that came affixed to my cookie sheet was large, maybe 10 inches by 8 inches. It was affixed to the cookie sheet with just a couple of spots of adhesive. The label was easy to pull off, and there was just one spot of adhesive (maybe 1/4-inch in diameter) left on the sheet (the top, or cooking surface side). I was able to remove that spot of adhesive easily with a plastic scrubber (a Dobie) pad. No scratching of the pan resulted - it looks pristine. I'm looking forward to using it & will post back if it warps or performs poorly. Maybe it's the luck of the draw re: removing the label. Some reviewers indicated the label was "full-body" glued to the top side of the sheet & that the adhesive was a nightmare to get rid of. Not my experience at all. I hope my experience represents what current buyers of this cookie sheet will experience in terms of the label, because if it is they'll be pleased.

I purchased this cookie sheet because it had a good review from Cooks Illustrated, but was disappointed when I received it. My intial impression was that it seemed light and flimsy. After working hard to remove the glue used to attach the label (had to resort to Goo Gone to get it all) I slapped a sheet of parchment paper on it and baked a batch of cookies. As I feared, the sheet did warp slightly in the heat of the oven, although the cookies seemed unaffected. They did cook evenly and brown nicely though. I have used the sheet several more times and had similar results. I have not used it without parchment paper so can't comment on how well it releases cookies from the pan surface. Overall a decent sheet for the price, but I prefer something a little sturdier.
