I absolutely love this pan. In both it's split and it's normal form, it's very clean and cooks nicely. IT comes apart nice and smoothly, leaving the pie intact. I always grease with lard regardless of non-stick properties, so I can't speak as to it's effectiveness, only to say I've never had problems with crusts sticking to the pan.
Cooking two drastically different fillings are a logistical nightmare, so I recommend cooking fillings before putting them into a split pie, aside from that I can't fault this in any way.

Really nice idea to be able to make 2 - 1/2 pies. Better instructions would help with this and also, it should be a one piece pie tin, with a permanent separation. This wants to also serve as a pie pan for both a single pie and for the split pie, and that doesn't work. Also, 1/2 recipe is a little too much for the section.

When making a split pie (2 - 1/2 pies) make sure that rim of pie dough goes all the way around and is connected the whole way. Otherwise, rim will cook up and breaks off. Also, bottom plate can leak if you have any holes in pie dough.

Not the greatest pie pan, but if you are careful, then you can successfully make 2 - 1/2 pieces.

This is such a great pie pan because not only can you make a normal one flavor pie, but it gives you the option to cater to everyone in your family. I made an apple/cherry pie for Thanksgiving and I had no problems with this product whatsoever. It's non-stick, dishwasher safe, and seems to be made to last. My only warning is that if you're used to making pies in a normal plate (where the bottom doesn't pop out) lift from the edges! In a moment of not thinking, I supported the pie I'd started to make from the bottom and it made a huge mess.
