This product speaks for itself. Keep it maintained for steady performance which means oiling. 3m gold makes the best sanding discs.

Both pads 2" and 3" are hook and loop type. Pads are flexable and will conform to work surface. There is very little torq with fine sandpaper so the sander will not move around pulling you into a corner. The orbital action is smooth. This sander looks great, sands great, and fit the porpose for which I bought it for perfectly. Wood worker sanding into tight spots.

Glad I purchased this sander. Works great. Fortunately I have a very large (80 gal) compressor that does not have to work very hard at all to keep the air coming.... :-) I don't know this for sure (as I have not tried) but I suspect you would not be too happy if you tried to run this on one of those two or three gallon 'pancake' compressors you see roofers use.

I have used this same tool in the body shop where I work. It is very useful for feathering paint in tight areas like door jambs, etc. The variable speed control also makes it a good tool for the 3M headlight polishing kits that most auto parts stores sell, as they require slower speed. I am somewhat disappointed that the one I recieved is painted red rather than the polished metal version shown in the advertisement. It's not a big deal just overtime I presume the red finish will have issues as apposed to the polished metal shown in the ad. It also doesn't come with any harsher grit sandpaper but these are obtainable at my local autobody supplier, for a price of course :). Overall a great tool when used for it's intended purpose, not a tool designed for fast removal of material, it's a random orbital sander afterall. Chicago Pneumatic sells an identical twin to it for that. I am not big on tools that come with their own cases, most of the time the tool will wind up in my tool box while the case sits on a shelf. I'ld rather they would save their time and effort, omit the case, and pass the savings on to me. In my situation and that of the bodyshop where I work, the sand paper gets used up and since it comes in boxes about 3" square, that's where it remains, the areas in the case are not large enough to accomodate a full box. If I could have found the bare tool with both the 2" and 3" pads, plus pad removal tool, for a lesser price I would have gone that route. In the end; omit the case and the red paint on the tools body and I would give it 5 stars.

I have frequent need for a small RO sander and the CP7200 offered by AMAZON attracted my attention. This tool appears to be well made, it handles and runs nicely and speed is easily modulated. The hook and loop discs mount firmly and are easy to change. Likes: two sizes of hook and loop back up pads, small size, fairly good selection of 'starter' sanding discs, storage case. Dislikes: terse instruction booklet, two documents are needed to understand parts list and maintenance recommendations and no lubricant is included in the starter package. Product description should list a hook-up hose whip as it is needed to properly use the tool and available additional coarser grit discs.

Product works well and I have used all grits of paper all the way up to 3000 on aluminum car parts followed by buffing and have achieved fantastic results. Tool does use a lot of air and will quickly drain 30 gallon units of the required pressure to make the tool work properly. Best used on a large compressor or you'll have to wait for the air volume and psi to pump back up.
