Book Description

October 11, 2011
With big names such as Nate Berkus and Alessandra Branca putting Chicago on the national design map, and with lesser-known (but no less talented) pros working their magic from the Gold Coast to the North Shore, Chicago teems with beautiful homes. This gorgeous coffee table book not only shows these dwellings in all their splendor but also tells the stories of how they came to be. Compiled by the editors of Chicago Home + Garden magazine, Chicago Spaces is divided into two parts. The first features homes in their entirety, while the second focuses on specific rooms: dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, baths, dens, foyers, and children’s rooms. Readers learn how these spaces came together and find tips for making changes in their own homes, as well as a directory of the area’s best furniture and accessories shops. Chicago Spaces shows readers smart ways to turn their homes into comfortable, stylish oases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful printing & photography September 29, 2011
By VOFOZ
Format:Hardcover
We have loads of coffee table books, and living in Chicago we thought for the price it is hard to say no. The printing of this book is beautiful, and the layouts are fantastic, I like how the book is divided into 2 sections: 1st half featuring full home tours; and the 2nd half showing rooms kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms etc. They really did a nice job with the choice of photographs. I wish more of these types of books were produced to this level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful idea book November 30, 2011
By Dino
Format:Hardcover
This is a beautiful book that takes you inside some extraordinary spaces. As it celebrates Chicago's wealth of design talent it rises above a "regional" publication to stand shoulder to shoulder with any decor book on your coffee table. That said, it's refreshing to peek inside such interesting residences in a city with a distinctive lifestyle from either coast. Original, smart, and beautifully presented, it's full of ideas to help you "love where you live". It's a great gift (to self); add this one to your list!

Very good book. The interiors are stunning. I think Chicago's style stand alone and this book really describes how much of a real player Chicago is in design.
