I spent a lot of years with John Wills in the law enforcement trenches of Detroit, a place where Christian faith is rarely a survivor. Somehow John's flourished. In Chicago Warriors, he has created a unique narrative demonstrating how the worst of man can be defeated by the best in man. It is a parable of a morality that is vanishing from the American landscape."

Wonderful, inspirational story!,

What a great story! Chicago Warriors is a wonderful, inspirational read, and it was hard to keep a dry eye throughout. John Wills puts in words what every law enforcement officer knows in his heart...that forces of evil roam the earth and oftentimes ordinary men and women behind a badge have first contact. As a retired federal agent and author, like John, I have called upon Saint Michael to pull me through many perils like the characters in his book.

In the last 35 years I've read hundreds, if not thousands of police procedurals and related genre, and its hard to find any that can still hold my interest.
This one did. It has a police chaplain as a character, I like that, but that's not what held me. The story carried me along. The drama. The radio assignments stuck a real cord with me, as I've answered up to many such calls, and in the book felt the emotion of the real thing. The characters are like so many I've met over the years. You know you're reading a good police novel when you go to work and find that: life imitates the art you're reading. It's a book with a point to make. The Christian element is clearly there, but in a humble, rather than self-righteous way. It's a book that many police officers will relate to because I've never met a group of more religious people than cops. Their religion is more internal than external. It's often inchoate, and mingled with superstition and hope. But they know evil. They know the devil and his associates personnally. You won't find too many coppers who are Puritans or Pollyanna's. I've dealt with many hundreds of them in crisis, and to a man, when they hear prayers and Biblical comfort their crises are calmed, and their demons put to rest. It's really quite remarkable to observe. And so I think there'a place for a book like this, and many more to follow I hope.

For many of us, this year has been a year of great challenges. I thank John Wills for writing "Chicago Warriors" and for writing the book when he did.
The book reminds us that we all have challenges we face in life. Life isn't easy. Police officers face many difficult situations and witness some of the most evil things of which humans are capable. At the same time, police officers must deal with stressors at home. In "Chicago Warriors," Officer Pete Shannon has problems. Officer Marilyn Benson has problems. But they were not alone. We do not need to be alone. The book shows how people can work together and offer each other support, but more importantly, it reminds us of the strength we gain when add the power of prayer to take on a new challenge or remedy an old problem. Wills quotes the Bible, "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." "Chicago Warriors" is a very encouraging book. Thank you.

Wills succeeded at creating a first-rate crime novel--fast-paced and dizzying.... John you have hit a home run.
This adventure is a great read that can't be put down. You're a hard-boiled pro with a remarkable, authentic detailing of police procedures. Chicago Warriors with Police Officer Pete Shannon is destined to be come a TV Series.

For those of us that are unfamiliar with the world of police work, this is a wonderful book. It offers interesting insight into the exciting and challenging role of law enforcement, while still offering all the other components that make a great story. Whether you are looking for action, drama, romance or comedy, this book offers a little bit of everything. The story held my attention from beginning to end and left me wanting more. I highly recommend this book.

Great Book!,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The author, John Wills, adroitly addresses the ethical, moral and societal issues faced by police officers on the job and in their every day lives. He presents a balanced view, both good and bad of the police officers and the citizens they serve and protect. This book will leave you with a good feeling that if you do the right thing you will be rewarded in the end!
