Got it for my son's 2nd brithday and he loved it the moment he realized it had a remote. But the range on the car is limited to within a few inches of the car. Beyond that the signal doesn't work. You almost have to be on top of the car to keep it working. Considering it runs faster than a child can walk, and that you have to be literally on top of the car, it can get a little frustrating at times. I'm already looking into seeing if I can manually add an antenna or somehow otherwise extend the range of the remote. Other than the limited range, it's durable, and the batteries last a long time and my son likes it.

I agree with the other reviewer that the range is more limited, but I've seen 2 at work, and they both had a range of about 12-20 feet. More than enough for a toddler of 18 months or more. The remote is simple and easy to use, and yet moves the cars in 4 directions (my son is 17 months and figured out the remote right away) We have fun stacking cardboard blocks on it and running it back & forth!

I bought this car as a gift for a close friend's son. We gave it to him on his 3rd birthday and he and my daughter LOVED it. The were fighting over it! As far as the range goes we didn't have to "stay on top of the car" as another reviewer said. We didn't once have a problem of the car being out of range. They played with this outside on the driveway and walkway as well as in the house. The controls are super easy to use. I don't think I would recommend this toy for anyone younger than 2 years. That being said I think I am going to buy another one for my daughter!
