Got it for my son's 2nd brithday and he loved it the moment he realized it had a remote. But the range on the car is limited to within a few inches of the car. Beyond that the signal doesn't work. You almost have to be on top of the car to keep it working. Considering it runs faster than a child can walk, and that you have to be literally on top of the car, it can get a little frustrating at times. I'm already looking into seeing if I can manually add an antenna or somehow otherwise extend the range of the remote. Other than the limited range, it's durable, and the batteries last a long time and my son likes it.

I agree with the other reviewer that the range is more limited, but I've seen 2 at work, and they both had a range of about 12-20 feet. More than enough for a toddler of 18 months or more. The remote is simple and easy to use, and yet moves the cars in 4 directions (my son is 17 months and figured out the remote right away) We have fun stacking cardboard blocks on it and running it back & forth!

I bought this car as a gift for a close friend's son. We gave it to him on his 3rd birthday and he and my daughter LOVED it. The were fighting over it! As far as the range goes we didn't have to "stay on top of the car" as another reviewer said. We didn't once have a problem of the car being out of range. They played with this outside on the driveway and walkway as well as in the house. The controls are super easy to use. I don't think I would recommend this toy for anyone younger than 2 years. That being said I think I am going to buy another one for my daughter!

Got this for my kids for Christmas. I read the reviews but got it anyway because I thought it looked really cute and fun. Was very frustrated when ATV and remote had to be within a couple of feet of each other to work. I emailed Chicco; they sent me a new jeep! It's everything I hoped it would be. The range is well over 10 feet. I don't know if they had a problem batch or if they have improved the product, either way, if you are having problems email them (Info@chiccousa.com). They will make it right!!

I am so disappointed in this product. I would not recommend it to anyone....I got it for my two year old and it didn't even work out of the box....it is almost like the gears are jammed it sounds like it is going a million miles an hour and the thing is barely moving.....He got another car similar different brand and it drives circles around this piece of junk!

We gave this car to my two year old for Christmas. It is perfect for her being that she has never had or played with a remote control car before. My husband has even had fun playing with it. You do have to stay close to it so that it continues to go. The range is not the greatest but my daughter follows it around anyway so it all works out. It is well-built and can take a beating. The controls are easy to use. I am very happy with this purchase.

First one arrived and despite all best efforts, simply would not work. Replacement arrived, and it too would not work.

Purchased for 2 year old grandson for Christmas.He loves car and is able to control car on his own very well.The color is just like picture. Car seems to be made well. Remote control is excellent hand eye coordination.

Not the greatest remote controlled toy car out there but it does make a great first of such a toy to own. The left and right buttons turn the car as they each move it forward, therefore you can't reverse and turn at the same time you need to reverse straight out and then turn as you go forward. After playing for a week the forward button seems to steer the car a little to the right for some strange reason, it used to go straight when we first started. Replaced batteries and the same problem happens. Other than that it's pretty durable it can withstand hard knocks and rough play did not chip nor break. I do agree with a previous reviewer that there's a fixed (short) signal range.

Our 2 1/2 year old loves this car. He doesn't understand the controls that well, but he'll grow into it. It is very durable for the price and works well. You can't control it from more than 15-20 feet away, but that is perfect for his age. I would recommend this.
