This is one of those toys that if you don't turn off the switch on the car, the batteries wear out. No auto shut off??

Other than that, it's a great toy, good remote for a two year old.

Got this because I saw it for sale on HSN. It looked easy to control and seemed to have good range on tv, so I ordered it. Well, they must have been using a different car than the car we received. This car is very cute, and the kids instantly wanted to play with it, it seems fairly durable, but you have to stand basically within 3-5 feet of it to make it go, so the kids have to follow it around to make it drive, lame. the batteries die very quickly. And the general controls aren't that great. I got this as a Christmas gift for my son and was pretty disappointed. Over all, they don't play with it much because it's hard to control and they have to follow it all around, which sort of defeats the purpose of a remote control car. Would not recommend.

I purchased this for my 2 year old for the holidays and I would rate it as *** for the fact that it is fun, functional, but with major pitfalls.

Firstly this isn't for a 2 year old! I tried to teach him the cause and effect of pressing the buttons but he was much happier when an adult was controlling and he was running after it.

The Range is "ok". I would say about 10 feet but past that you get a spotty response from the vehicle.

BATTERIES: You have read it in the other reviews and it is completely true. The remote requires 3 AAA and the car 3 AA for a total of six batteries. Yes, they are easy to swap, Yes they have the nice feature where the screw doesnt fall off the panel BUT there is no auto off and because of this major pitfall you will constantly be replacing 6 batteries.

Control: The remote has four buttons, forward,backwards,right,left. The right and left also propel the car forward so you cant really use them while going backwards (although the front wheels kind of stay in the last position they were placed in)

The wheels work fine on both flooring and carpet and are rubberized not to harm hardwood and such. There is a little rubber bumper on the front and back which helps as well (but i wouldnt want it bumping into my dining room table or chairs).

Overall the toy works, but the battery issues and the limited range and control makes it an OK toy, that the kids will play with... forget about for a while ...and then rarely want to play with again (with new batteries each time!)
