Utterly dumb, way overpriced,

I didn't expect much from this game, but it still failed to meet expectations. Utterly boring. Particularly annoying was the fact that the shotgun assembly is designed to use the wii nunchuck so that the "z" key functions as the trigger. But the game only works using the wii controller, which is to be placed in the barrel of the gun. In other words, you can't play the game using the shotgun! For $20 more, the Nerf N-Strike Elite is well-designed, exciting and an appropriate shooting game for young children. If you want a shooting game, Chicken Shoot is NOT it.

I too, like the reviewer before me did not expect very much from this game at all. I purchased it for my two young sons and spent 10 minutes getting the 20" blaster hooked up with the nunchuck and everything and thought I was good to go. Wrong! What a marketing gimmick! Include a wii shotgun 20" blaster and accompany it with a game that can't take advantage of the nunchuck as a trigger!. There should be some sort of class action suit started for this.. I personaly think it could not have taken more than 2 weeks to completely develop and release this game to market. It is not very good. That said, both of my kids do have some fun every once and a while but 100% without the 20" blaster that (for me anyways) was the selling point. Do yourself a favor and just get the game a la carte, if you even want to get that..

The game is a lot of fun but the gun is useless and awkward. Once we discarded the gun and just used the controllers, we had a ball. My wife would have given it a higher rating but she can't beat me so she will only go with a four.

We thought that by buying the gun it would be the coolest thing ever! You don't even need the nunchuck! the trigger is useless!!! you shoot w/ the barrel of the gun! How stupid is that!?!? It is goofy and the graphics are awful. The levels are all the same w/ different background. What a waste of money!!!

I purchased this for my husband and 3 year old son. Like others have already stated, this is a very simple game and the graphics are not as great as some of the other wii games out there. I decided to go with this one because although I don't really like shooting games, I feel that this is one that is more appropriate for a younger child as there is no blood, gore, etc... Also, the hubby is not much of a gamer so this was perfect for them.

Cartoonish graphics, very little excitement... just get Link's crossbow gun instead. It comes with a much better shooting game.

I bought this a walmart for $40, total waste of money, graphics are really bad like one step up from stick figures! and the gun attachment has a spot for the wii controllere and nunchuck but you can't use nunchuck on this game so why do they have the gun that uses both? i don't know, hopefully i can use the gun with other shooting games.

I wish I had read some reviews before buying this product! The game was wonderful and fun and easy for my 3 and 5 year old to play, but the blaster gun that is packaged with it is a waste of money! It is incompatible with the game and doesn't work properly - it makes you use a button on the front of the wand on the front of the gun instead of where the usual trigger on a gun should be. If you are planning on buying this game - buy the game alone! Don't waste your money or time with the blaster gun that doesn't work right with the game!

I didn't buy this game from Amazon. I stumbled on it in Best Buy for $9.99. Figured I get it for the kids to play since it was so cheap.
Could not figure out why the trigger was up at the front of the gun until I looked it up online here on Amazon. How could they even let this thing ship to the stores when the gun is useless for the game? How could no one at the company that made this game not catch this? The kids can still play the game but they can't use the Zapper. The only good thing about this is that I didn't pay as much as some reviewers here paid and I can use the gun for other games that were made by more competent people.

Did they even test what they packaged together?,

As other reviewers mentioned, this game is incredibly frustrating due to the fact that if you use the included shotgun, the trigger will reload and the button on the barrel of the gun will shoot. In other words, the buttons are configured the exact opposite of how they should be. The included gun is thus effectively worthless.
The game play itself is mildly entertaining for a few minutes but gets boring quickly. There are too many chickens on the screen so you really just feel like you're rapidly firing at a crowd of chickens, not carefully aiming and shooting (so it feels like what you're doing takes no skill). |
