Completely original quilt pattern. What a joy to see this. Don't know if I will ever be able to make this quilt, but I would really like to try. I have seen it completed and it is not only beautiful, but also funny. I will probably collect snippets of fabric from my stash over the years and make my own personal block of the month. Just adorable.

The quilt pattern is adorable, however, this quilt is not for the novice. Unless you have done some applique quilting using fusible web, you will be a little frustrated trying to make this qulit. The directions are not detailed and the quilter is left to figure out a few things on their own. I love the pattern and am making the quilt but I would not have attempted this without previous experience. I would have liked a little more discussion about fabric patterns and a little more about putting the appliques together. The page describing the pieces needed was not clear. Most quilting books have this information in a table format making it easier to determine the pieces needing cut and labeling the fabrics by letter (A,B,C, etc). Just wish things were a little clearer as I spent some time figuring out how to make the quilt before starting. I do like the quilt and hope the authors come up with some more whimsical ideas.

The Chicken Buffet appliques have smaller pieces which may put a novice appliquer off, but is very doable with fusible and patience. I opened the book and laughed at each scene of the "Buffet Chickens." The recipes sound great with some close to my mother's recipes. This quilt was just too cute to pass up and just looking at the book is worth the price.

Linda and Bonnie's efforts are definitely deserving of "two wings up", so to speak. I bought the book at a retail outlet and immediately started planning my layout and gathering fabris. If you like humor, you'll love the pattern. Even my non-sewing friends at work loved it. I can't wait to start sewing. Thanks ladies and please do some more books & projects like this!!!!!
