I really like this book, which I use in my music classes for young children. They are always fascinated and engaged - I think they relate to the story of little chickens who are afraid to go on the playground toys, especially the slide. I use a high, small little voice for the chickens and the children really like it. It also shares a nice message about helping others, as Beaver helps the little chickens slide down for the first time. This book is always a big hit in my classes!

My 2 year old absolutely loves this book about a couple of chicks taking their first trip to the playground with their mother. They are afraid of trying things at first and eventually decide to try the slide. They discover that once they are over their initial fears (with help from a Beaver) they love it. My daughter says "whee!" along with the text when characters slide down the slide. A lot of fun for my daughter and a book that I really enjoy reading:)
