While this clearly is Robert Preston and parts of the Chicken Fat I grew up with, it is only a 4 minute version, not the 10 minute version used during PE classes when it was raining to too cold for outdoors classes.

So you will get parts of what you remember, just not the entirety.

My wife and I recently saw two different stage productions of Music Man by Meridith Wilson. This made my wife eager to have the recording of Wilson's Chicken Fat, by Robert Preston, she used with her first grade classes in the sixties. We thought this was it, but it is not. This one does not have the wonderful energy of Robert Preston's original recording.

This was not the same as the original 45 record I have. I did not like this cd. I still use the record. This just sits in my cd holder. Do not recommend.

This is not the same recording that was popular in the 1960's and played in every gymnasium in the country. I was very disappointed that it was an abbreviated version of the exercise routine that I remember doing in grade school.

I ordered this because it came up in search as the Robert Preston version of "Chicken Fat". It is not. It is about 2-3 minutes of the introduction then it is a changed version without Robert Preston through the rest. Very disappointing to me and I wasted money on the CD.

This isn't the "Chicken Fat" you remeber from grade school--it is a shortened version, but it's fun all the same! The CD does have a longer version included that is instumental only, so if you can fill in your own aerobic exercises, it works great! I love the music. It reminds me of those days back in grade school when we would all line up across the room and work out to "Go you chicken fat, go away--go you chicken fat, go!"

I wanted the CHicken Fat exercise music for my daycare. I remember being in junior high doing Chicken Fat (many many years ago). It was a nationwide effort to get kids into shape. I hoped the Chicken Fat on Amazon would be the same one I remembered doing. IT IS! The kids love it. The cheesy guy singing and zany music is so out of our kids knowledge base, they love it. The catchy tune gets stuck in their heads and they hum it all day long. This DVD program fulfills the 60 minutes of daily exercise required for schools. I ordered this product. I received this product in pristine condition and it was delivered as promised.

This was a grade school favorite that I am going to pass on to my grandkids. I hope they find it as much fun as I did.Chicken Fat

This is a nice souding, well-done version of the Baby-Boomer era original version. It lacks the energy and charm of the original, which was done by one and only Robert Preston. Don't be fooled by seeing composer Meridith Wilson's name on the label.It is the same song; however, it is not sung by the singer of the well-known and best loved classic by Robert Preston. Not worth the money, if you ask me. Buy the orginal track.

I have great memories of this song from camping in the summer back in the 60's and 70's. I have been looking for Chicken Fat sung by Robert Preston for years and this is not it. It is a shortened version of the original song tho.
