The last page is a picture of the fox sucking a bone. No chickens. It just says the king was never told that the sky was falling. This edition leaves it to the adult reading the story to the toddler to explain what happened to the foolish chickens and their friends.

Otherwise, it seems a reasonably standard edition of the traditional story. My 4-year old nephew enjoyed it.

I read this book to my 20 month old and she loved it. Chicken Little is the first book she goes for when she wants to be read to. The illustrations keep her enthralled from start to finish and she loves to mimic the animal sounds as we go. This classic tale will live on forever in our home.

I purchased this book as a gift, but luckily I had it shipped to myself so I could gift wrap it. When I opened it I found that there was an error in the printing and many of the words at the beginning of the sentences were cut off, and all the text was moved far to one side of the page. It was probably just an error on the particular books that were made that day or whatever. I would have been very upset had the recipient received this book as a gift like this. At least I can return it and get a properly printed copy in its place... hopefully.

I bought six of my favorite childhood books for my great-grandson..."Little Black Sambo", "The Three Billy Goats Gruff", "Henny Penny", "Chicken Little", "The Three Little Kittens", and "Classic Tales of Brer Rabbit". My great-grandie is 2-1/2 and I can't wait to read these wonderful stories to him.

The book was great until I got to the end. It does not have the happy ending I remembered from my childhood. However, it closer to the original than the newest Chicken Little in Little Golden Books. The new version in Little Golden books has aliens and a story line unlike the one from my childhood.

I remembered this book from childhood and thought it might be good to purchase. I loved all the characters like Chicken Little, Loosey Goosey, etc., but I didn't remember the ending. I had to laugh as I read it again, but I'm really not sure if I'd read it to a very young child. I still believe it is a classic, just be cautious of the age group, because it may be harsh and scary.
