Book Description

Chicken Soup for the Soul February 23, 2000

Like the original Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul, this second volume celebrates wholesome, traditional values and principles. Themes of forgiveness, faith, hope, charity and love will lift readers' spirits and warm their hearts. The stories in this collection will deepen readers' faith and expand their awareness of how to practice Christian values in their daily lives--at home, at work and in the community.

This book will remind readers of the miracles they can discover when they welcome Christ into their everyday lives. Powerful stories will deepen readers' compassion for others, inspire them to greater acts of charity, lead them to forgive others and themselves, encourage them to stand up for what they believe in, and, most of all, remind them that they are never alone or without hope--no matter how challenging and painful their circumstances may seem.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Chicken Soup for the Christian Family Soul is the latest installment in the wildly popular "Chicken Soup" series. Each story in the collection is heartwarming; storytellers Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Jeffrey Hedquist, Dawn McKay, and Jackie Leigh manage to convey sweetness without being saccharine. Possibly the most touching tale concerns a Jewish woman and her husband who had been separated in World War II. Each was taken to the concentration camps believing that the other had escaped and was safe; each came out of the camps believing that the other had died. Through chance, each spotted a lace tablecloth that the woman had tatted and embroidered with her initials hanging in a church. This audiotape reminds believers of all faiths that kindness matters and that miracles and synchronicities occur daily. Libraries with large Christian, self-help, and inspiration collections will want this audiobook. Pam Kingsbury, Alabama Humanities Fdn., Florence

5.0 out of 5 stars chicken soup for the christian family soul, April 25, 2000
I laughed, I cried, and then I cried some more! All in a good feeling sort of way. I would recommend this book to anyone, no matter what their belief system is. It definitely will impact them in many different ways. There are memories that come flooding back as they relate to the stories told. It makes you want to make sure you take advantage of all that is good and positive that we miss day to day by being to caught up in ourselves! I loved the book.
