Great stories for dad and sons, April 6, 2008
This review is from: Chicken Soup for the Father and Son Soul: Celebrating the Bond That Connects Generations (Chicken Soup for the Soul) (Paperback)
I am a father of three boys and a contributer to this book. I wrote, "The End of the Pier," because my boys love for me to tell them stories of my childhood. Buy this book, not because it would make me feel better about my storytelling skills, but because every son needs inspiration and every father needs encouragement. My hope is that both will find it here.

Closer bonding..., June 30, 2009
This review is from: Chicken Soup for the Father and Son Soul: Celebrating the Bond That Connects Generations (Chicken Soup for the Soul) (Paperback)
Being a great fan of Chicken Soup series, I was gifted two books recently - Chicken Soup for the Mother and Daughter Soul and Chicken Soup for the Father and Son Soul. Since I have no daughter, I picked up the second for a read as I experienced a close bond between my son and his dad.I agree with Scott T. gill, who contributed in this book when he says, "What Every son needs is, an inspiration and every father needs encouragement." Life's path are trailed to journey together in thick and thin and when my son and his dad faced the tricker situation of business, I witnessed a closer ties. Reading the stories of the contributors is truly an inspiration, encouragement. I narrated some of these tales to both of them and believe me, somebody else's tales becomes a part of motivation. The three generations of Grandfather, father and son is sometimes a sandwich for the father but I guess, rifts dimish where there is love, care and understanding for each other. These are Gem books and spontaneously love to gift these books of Chicken Soup Soul series. A good pick and must for Dads and sons.

The importance of step-fathers, April 6, 2008
This review is from: Chicken Soup for the Father and Son Soul: Celebrating the Bond That Connects Generations (Chicken Soup for the Soul) (Paperback)
I am also a contributor to this book, and a father of three boys. The reason I wrote my piece is that I wanted to stress the importance of step-fathers. In this age of broken and reassembled families, a large portion of boys (and girls) in this country are raised by step-fathers. I believe they deserve more praise for the work they put into being good parents. My own step-father was there for me when I needed him most. My story "The Kind Of Man A Boy Needs" is dedicated to him.
