I have not read this book, but my nine year old daughter has read and enjoyed most of it. Last night though, she cried herself to sleep after reading graphic stories (near the end of the book) by an incest victim whose father was sent to jail and the daughter of an injection drug user who woke up one night with police pointing guns at her. I'm sure the inclusion of these stories was well-intentioned, but there's no way they are "chicken soup" for the average kid's soul.

I bought this book as a gift for an 8 year old child. I decided to read one of the stories in the book at random just to see what it was like. Upon doing so, I encountered a child molestation account and felt the need to continue to read before giving the book to the child. The more stories I read, the more disturbed I was at the thought that this book is recommended for children of age 8-12. The stories ranged from "my friend died from accidentally strangling himself as he held a rope out a car window" to "my friend and I almost died from a boat running over us" to "my father molested me(not to mention the graphic detail of the story)." None of these stories are ones that I would enjoy reading as an adult and surely would never want to expose a child to such stories. I think the book should be taken off of the shelves and will be trying to return my copy for a refund.

The series of Chicken Soup books has held my attention since their first publication. Perhaps this is one of the most important books in the series. The stories will also help everyone realize that life is a journey. The words will inspire you to dream, to be more positive, and to realize you are not alone.

When you purchase this book, think of it as a life enriching tool. The topics of love, friendship, family, attitude, perspective, death, dreams, obstacles, choices, tough stuff and eclectic wisdom are discussed in stories, poems and passages.

The stories are short enough so you could read one a day. There are also funny cartoons, poems and plenty of "kid" wisdom. I give this book my highest recommendation. I think even adults should read some of the stories in this book. The poem a child wrote about her father is something every parent should read.

I was also impressed with the health advice and section on making the right choices. The positive lessons you can learn from this book will last a lifetime. My favorite poem was on page 293, it truly holds the wisdom of a child. We have so much to learn from children, if we will take the time to listen.

I LOVED Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul! I just read and read and read it. Most of the stories are realy sweet, some are funny, and some are sad, but they're all WONDERFUL!!!! There are also cartoons through out the book. IT is a GREAT book.

I recieved this book just last week, and I have read it at least 2 times, srtaight through. I cry in some stories, and laugh in others, but after I read it, I feel SO much smarter. I love how they set the book up, in different categories. I have recently been reading the "Death and Dying" part, and it has really helped. I would advise EVERYONE to read this, even adults. It is not only a kids book, it is just about the lives of kids. Most of the situatons would happen to an adult, too.

I really recommend this book to be read by all kids, since I was, I really like this book. It could be read in those times you feel your life is a problem or at any time of the day. Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul is really an emotional book to be read whenever you need a miracle or if your soul's got a cold.

Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul, I believe, was one of the most amazing books written of all time for kids. It shares the experiences others have endured and overcome, loyal friendships that have been lived, and many other heartwarming stories. I was introduced to this book by a great teacher of mine, who lent it to me for a week, and that was when I fell in love with it!

It showed me words of wisdom: to strengthen my self-confidence, self-belief, how to dream my dreams of life and how to live a greater life.

The Chicken Soup Series is absolutely amazing, and as I am moving onto my teenage years, I cannot wait to get my hands on the Teenage Soul Series!

I recommend this book to each and every reader of the world, because this is the definite Chicken Soup to heal to anyone and everyone's soul for life!

Chicken Soup for the Kids Soul is a fantastic, well-written book. This book includes many stories about kids going through life. The stories are about love, sorrow, family, achieving dreams and many more. The stories will make kids think of times they went through. It's an inspiring book that will make kids believe in themselves. I would give this book five stars.

I like the way they organize the little stories as they are. The poems touch my heart. I was really moved when the sentences started becoming wonderful feelings that came to me. I especially like the funny, heart-trending "book" poem. I highly reccommend this book for kids who need laughter and parents who want their kids to be cheerful and understand about life.

I have been waiting for 3 years to get this book.Finally my mom came up to me and suprised me with this book.I was so happy.This book had made my life full of experiences and laughter.Now I get to explore how others lives were,if they were like mine because I always think that I am the only one in the state that has my kind of attitude.Thanks to the Chicken Soup Book and my mom.
