Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul, a book which honestly depicts the many difficulties that come from being a nurse. Nursing in today's hospitals can become routine, mundane, over-worked by the long, difficult hours and high census, with little rewards--except for the patients and their families, who require gentle, loving care in a time of greatest need. Who are there on the front line save for the doctors and nurses? Should care-givers temporarily forget why they went into the field, the sweet stories inside the covers will motivate them as to why they underwent the trials of nursing school. The patient experiences that nurses leave the hospital with are probably what keeps nurses returning for another and another shift, when they reach down inside of themselves to lift both patient and families with care and, at times, inspiration. This book, a shining tribute to nursing, contains remarkable accounts of nursing found in few places!

I collect (and regularly contribute to) Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I currently have over 110. I had a hard time finding this book as it isn't available at local book stores. It's a fabulous read.

Have to confess my favorite all time Chicken Soup Book was the first one--WAS. Then in 2011 they published Chicken Soup for the Soul Inspiration for the Young at Heart. It's for folks over 60--or who plan to be. Now THAT is the BEST of all the Chicken Soup books.

But this one is still worth reading. Would be a great gift for that nurse on your gift list.

To be a nurse, this book is inspirational and uplifting, and was just as good as the first book, "Chicken soup for the Nurse's soul"

This is a great book, durable. Has a lot to say and my fried, to whom I gave it, loved it!

Gave this to a new nursing school graduate. She loved the first book, and this seems to maintain the formula. Lots of short, poignant stories, including tear-jerkers.

Great book to keep handy for a quick boost of inspiration. It's full of wonderful, heartwarming stories of nurses making a difference in the lives of their patients.
