What a fantastic movie it would make, September 27, 2007
This review is from: Chickenbone Church Reunion (Paperback)
I am not a reader of novels. With that said I write my review:
The book was written in a way that while reading it I felt as though I was actually there. It made me think about the trials and tribulations people went through during those difficult years. A time my parents lived through in rural Alabama and Arkansas. This book demonstrates that good people who do illegal things are not necessarily evil. And evil people are sometimes put into positions of authority which they abuse because they themselves are more evil than those they are charged with policing.
I have never been in a position where I needed to break the law to take care of my family. I have always felt that it came to my family, I would break the law to insure their needs were met. Thats what a lot of good people did during those years. And I can't judge them for it.
A great book that is entertaining and thought provoking. I highly recommend it. What a fantastic movie it would make.
