5.0 out of 5 stars A picture of a strange time and strange action with intellectual explanation, November 14, 2008
The Catholic Church has declined in power over the centuries, but their presence is still strong. "The Chief Rabbi, the Pope, and the Holocaust: An Era in Vatican-Jewish Relations" is the story of how the Catholic Church related with the Jewish people during the tragic years of the Holocaust. The Catholic Church's efforts to stave the Holocaust were not the best, yet for some reason, Israele Zolli, the chief rabbi of Rome's Jewish community, praised their acts so much to convert to Catholicism, a decision which causes uproar to this day. A picture of a strange time and strange action with intellectual explanation, "The Chief Rabbi, the Pope, and the Holocaust" is solid reading for religious students.
