This book comes with handy advice about every aspect of your Chihuahua. It contains history of the Chihuahua among other fun facts, and then it hits the much-needed lifestyle facts you are probably looking for. It is basically a book for non-experienced/new Chihuahua owners. It is NOT a pet-training book even though it has a "training" DVD. It will let you know which foods are dangerous to your pet, which are the most common health problems for Chihuahuas and how you can help, what to have around in case of a canine emergency, how to attempt to tame your aggressive Chihuahua, among other issues a responsible owner should be aware of. It is not as detailed as I wish it was, but nevertheless, good to start off with. It could save your pet's life if you are the kind of person that feeds your dog table scraps not knowing which human foods are dangerous to your Chihuahua!

Knowledgeable Easy Read on The Chihuahua,
By Jeffrey N. Fritz "Nikon Jeff" (Morgantown, West Virginia) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Chihuahua (Terra Nova Series) (Hardcover)
A loving, female Chihuahua recently came into our lives. A rescued dog, she is attentive, accepting and adaptive. My wife and I are experienced dog owners, but we needed to gain some quick and factual information on this breed.
"The Chihuahua" by Tammy Gagne really fit the bill. It is informative, easy to read and filled with useful information. Gagne is a vet as is the book's consulting editor, Wayne Hunthausen. The book is reasonably priced--especially when you consider that it contains a "free" training DVD. But it is the usefulness and quality of the information presented in the book that represents it's real value. If you plan to add a Chihuahua to your family, or if you already have one, you will find this book to be a valuable read.
