Other than seeing Chihuly's work in person (breathtaking!), this is the best book detailing his work, theory and progress I have purchased. The photos are clear and give a full view of the range of his talent and creativity. The explanations of how he created each type of form over the years are revealing and interesting.
This is the definitive work for those wishing to meet Chihuly and his work for the first time, and for those who wish to dig deeper into the man and the artist within.

Ever since we were fortunate enough to have a Chihuly exhibit at our museum of art, I have been an avid fan of his work. He is absolutely a master of his craft. The book far surpasses what I had expected. The photos are wonderful and the information, though not extensive, is very informative. I highly recommend this book.

Anyone who has been to a Chihuly exhibit will love this spectacular book, bursting with color and images of various art pieces. My first experience with Chihuly work was an exhibit at Fairchild Gardens in Miami a few years back and I was blown away by the beauty of the spectacle of his pieces mixed with the nature of the gardens. If you ever have an opportunity to view a Chihuly exhibit in a botanical garden don't miss the chance; it will bring much joy. This book was a great way to bring a smile to my face reminiscing about the beauty I beheld in his work. This makes a great coffee table piece and a wonderful gift at a great price!

The pictures are stunning and although the book is small (only about half the height of your average coffee-table book), it is very thick and heavy.
My local book store sells this book for twice this price.

This is a beautiful book with marvelous photos. A "must have" for Chihuly fans. A great bargain at the price.

My daughter is an apprentice glass blower at a studio in NY so I bought this book for her collection. She had mentioned Dale Chihulys name as probably the most iconic glass blower to date, and after reading this book, I understand why. The pictures were exquisite, and the possibilities of what one you could do with glass, as an art form, were unthinkable to me. Seeing is believing and this book makes you a believer. Being of an artistic nature myself, I was in awe of the beauty that unfolded every time I turned the page. I insisted that "I loved that idea and color scheme best!" but then...there was another and another more breathtaking vision. I was sorry when it ended. I am quitting my day job and becoming a glass blower!

A stunning picture book by Chihuly. Not large at 6.5"x 9.5" but is 2" thick with photos of his art on at least every other page.

For those who wish to know the thinking of how an artist thinks and works, then this novel book will reveal serveral hints. The book is nicely illustrated with his current work and thinking. Colleagues from the field also contribute to their knowledge of Chihuly as an artist and glass blower. Although his accident, resulting in the loss of an eye,impacted his ability to personally blow glass, he has replaced it with his "Team Glass Blowing" from his European contacts. Along with his two dimensional investigative drawing/painting, it has allowed him to take the art of glass to the new heights.The book layout, with comments on the opposite page of the glass illustration keeps the information immediate to the images. The illustrations are rich and the color accurate. Excuse the pun, but the book will "blow you away"!

This is a wonderful visual history of Chihuly's most impressive pieces. No lack of pictures and it is never boring. You will have to go through it over a good length of time as there is so many works that are documented here. I haven't even reached the end after 2 months of enjoyment. This is not for someone who wants to read and learn about Chihuly's history. This really is as the name implies, hundreds of works by Dale Chihuly in one book. The only issue I have is that I wish the entire book was chronological in his career, but that is really being critical.

Great little big fat book to get to know Chihuly world. Wish it had been a little more finely done as far as quality. But that said ,heavy paper glossy prints., one could not afford it. This way more people get to seeChihuly world.
