Awesomeness!,

I get most of my school books online and in used condition. This book was listed as good but I thought it was very good, borderline excellent. This is an important addition to my educational library and I will be referring to it later on in other classes I am sure. Thanks for such a great product!

This is a great book for teachers to help them understand the students they will have in their classes. I learned a lot in the class I took about what the children today are going through and how that affects their learning. I think it will be great to go back to to reference in the future also. A must read for teachers and future teachers.

As a grandmother and Ashford University Online student, I learned a great deal from this text. With so much going on in today's world, we must do all we are able to insure our children are equipped for the challenges ahead. Roberta Berns does an excellent job of breaking down a myraid of pertinent information. I am particularly pleased with the introduction of the Bio-Ecological model, originally from Bronfenbrenner. As of late, I have been privileged to use some of the information in writing a paper for one of my courses. Socialization of children is very important and the child, their family, school, and community MUST come together (putting aside petty differences and agendas) if we are to leave a living legacy of success.

I got this book for my home, school, and community class. So far it has been very helpful and educational, but can get a bit on the wordy side and make ya want to quit reading.

One Sided View of 3 Dimensional Topic,
This review is from: Child, Family, Community: Socialization and Support (Hardcover)
I found this book to be rather insulting. When writing a book based on empirical evidence, an author's personal opinions on the subject matter may be evident. However, this view point should not be of such a magnitude where the evidence presented will support only one side of a two sided argument. This book was, clearly, biased, and in a very bad way. I found it quite pretentious.

This book was exactly what I ordered and it was received promptly. I ordered it through a used book seller. The only thing that was different than Amazon specifically was that there was a piece of reinforcement tape across the front of the book and a sticker that said "quality used book". I assume that's how the used book store keeps their stock separate, but the book was in perfect condition. I'd do it again! Thanks.

While I don't like the book--didn't like the class it was for--I had a good experience with the seller. I thought I'd have to return this and he said that wasn't a problem, but then I decided I still needed it and that wasn't a problem either. He was very personable and easy-going.

The book was just like new and a whole lot less expensive than at the college bookstore.
