My 2yr old loves to play the drums on anything he could find: the wall, legs, floor, back of Mommy's laptop. We decided it was time to get him some instruments of his own so he could jam with Daddy and Uncle. I saw this little toy and, reading the reviews, was a tad apprehensive but not deterred. Sure, you're not paying that much and it's a tad cheap, but it's a CHILD's toy. It's not meant to last through the ages. We set it up for his big 2 birthday. As soon as he saw it, immediately he was in love. We've had it for over a month now and I can honestly say the 32.00 was well worth the price. It's effortless to set up, even he does it when he wants to play in a different room. I've seen some reviews where people were complaining the cymbal fell off. #1 in a real set, the cymbal is removable. Stop nit picking. #2 it has an easily removable stopper to keep it attached when playing. Don't lose the stopper and it won't fall off. Even when the stopper isn't on the cymbal will stay put for the most part unless he's overly aggressive and to the point he kicks it over and starts head banging. We all enjoy the happiness he gets from this set. When he's older we will get him the more expensive ones when he understands how to actually play. But this one is great for introducing a toddler to the wonderful world of music and will give them an outlet, albeit a noisy throbbing outlet, instead of running around banging cabinets. Alright it wont stop the cabinet banging completely but you will see it significantly diminish.

Our 3 year old got this drum set as a gift (highly appreciated, because he loves musical instruments)As soon as we got this out of the box, it became clear that this was simply a cheap, shoddily manufactured toy. Lasted a couple of weeks and could not stand the rigors of 3 year old kids jam session. Having said that, the price explains it all, a decent pair of drum set for kids costs about $70 and what you get for 1/3rd of that price is not a drum set, it is simply a roughly made replica of a drum set.

I hunted all over for a drum set appropriate for my young granddaughter for Christmas, as she kept asking for one. I was elated when I found this set on Amazon, & immediately ordered it. It arrived fine, and she loves it. I only wish I had waited a couple more days, because just a few days later I went into Walmart and saw the same drum set for less money, and I wouldn't have had to pay shipping! But she is happy, so I am happy.
