Goutham Rao, MD grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and completed both his undergraduate and medical degrees at McGill University in Montreal. He completed his post-graduate training in Toronto and Pittsburgh. He is a family physician and medical school professor. Dr. Rao is also Clinical Director of the Weight Management and Wellness Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh (of UPMC).
Dr. Rao has taught clinical epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine for the past ten years. He is the author of dozens of publications in addition to the three books shown on this page. He is the recipient of numerous teaching and other honors and serves on a number of national committees.
