My 5-year-old grandson absolutely loved this! He felt he looked like a real policeman. The only problem was the size. I ordered a size larger thinking he would need to grow into it, but it was tight even though he is small for his age. He had fun for a few months until the costume no longer fit. I suggest ordering larger than the actual size of the child you are buying for.

I did a lot of research before buying a police officer costume for my son. This one is fantastic. It looks really good on. It is actually a one piece jumpsuit that buttons in the front. The fabric seems really durable. The downsides are that the belt and handcuffs are really cheaply made. I bought my son some other handcuffs (Magic Escape Realistic Handcuffs by Loftus) after the ones with the costume broke within 1 hour. I followed the advice of reviewers on other sites and bought a size larger. My son wears size 5 clothes and the size 6-8 costume fits him perfectly. I don't see how even a 6 year old could fit into this.

I was a tad disappointed with this costume because I didn't realize the "shirt" and "pants" were connected and not seperate. The belt is also pretty flimsy. The look of the costume is excellent and, as I said, my son LOVED it!
