About the Author

Elisa Hendel's daughter Robyn was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes over 8 years ago. After years of creating charts and lists to "simplify" this medical condition for her daughter's teachers, she decided to write a book. This book has been created by a teacher/parent of a child with diabetes for parents, caretakers and educators. The charts and lists help to simplify a very complicated disease. Elisa completed her Undergraduate work at the Pennsylvania State University and has a Master of Education Degree as a Reading Specialist, from Arcadia University. Elisa continues to travel to conventions and meetings and speak to support groups assisting parents with school issues related to diabetes. She has been married for over 20 years to Steven and is the proud mother of three daughters: Samantha, Robyn and Melanie. Elisa will continue to crusade against this disease until a cure is found.
