5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
I purchased this book because my 28 month old son was not talking. The speech pathologist narrowed it down to apraxia but would not commit to the diagnosis. Needless to say we were very frustrated. After reading the 1st chapter I felt like a huge weight had been lifted - it described our son perfectly. This book is very technical, I think it is written for someone...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Clinical
This book had a few good suggestions for the lay person working with an apraxic child. But for the most part it is directed at the Speech therapist. This review is from: Childhood Apraxia of Speech Resource Guide (Singular Resourse Guide Series) (Paperback)
I purchased this book because my 28 month old son was not talking. The speech pathologist narrowed it down to apraxia but would not commit to the diagnosis. Needless to say we were very frustrated. After reading the 1st chapter I felt like a huge weight had been lifted - it described our son perfectly. This book is very technical, I think it is written for someone with a background in this field but I was able to get a lot of ideas from it. His speech pathologist has explained many of the more complex issues. All in all it is a great book!

The two best pieces of advice in the book for a parent or lay person are to use Dr. Suess books and slower music. Good luck.
