This book showcases a collection of quilts made for and by children for doll beds. Some of them are quite old, whereas others are fairly recent. The photos are well done and the book's layout is easy to read.

I picked this one up on a whim, and while I enjoyed this book, I don't see it having much re-read value for me. I was hoping for some ideas for projects I would want to make in the future, and while it was interesting I wasn't inspired to duplicate any of the children's work.

I'm giving this book 3 stars, mostly because, while interesting, it didn't leave a lasting impression.

This delightful book leads the reader into the seldom-explored world of doll quilts. Better still, it helps us imagine the makers of the quilts, as well as the children for whom they were made, and who sometimes learned to make the quilts themselves, however awkwardly. Best of all, the knowledgeable collector and the author, with their historical expertise and their trained eyes, teach us that what speaks to us most clearly is the concept of the quilt, rather than the skill of its construction.--Dorothy Schneider (Mrs. Carl J. I really enjoyed taking 'time out' to sit down and read this book from cover to cover. The quilts pictured were lovely. There was not a lot of history provided, as doll quilts tend to not be labelled. Very enjoyable.

All my quilts are doll-size or fit dollhouse furniture, so this charming book provides a splendid source of inspiration. The discussion of the fabrics and explaining that many of these historic quilts had no batting nor quilting gave me new ideas to pursue. The hardback edition was a rewarding investment for me.

Great book with lots of history about the little doll quilts. If you are interested in antiques and mimiture quilts this is the book for you. Pictures of Mary Campbell's large collection of quilts are shown. I really enjoyed the book. Mary in NC

This book is so good that I have ordered five copies thus far -- one for myself and others as gifts for doll and quilt loving friends.

This is a good historical accounting of doll quilts through the ages. However, I was hoping for doll quilt patterns. While the description of the book states that it contains patterns, it only contains the names of the blocks with a sketch of the block itself--not instructions for how to make it. I was hoping for more instructional detail.
